Odeabank is named ‘Best Foreign Bank’ and its CEO ‘Best CEO’​

The international independent publishing organization EMEA Finance recognized Odeabank with the award of best foreign bank of the year once again at the Europe Banking Awards 2015. Odeabank’s General Manager Hüseyin Özkaya received the “CEO of the Year” award while Odeabank received awards in three different categories.

As a 100% subsidiary of Lebanon based Bank Audi in Turkey, Odeabank started began operations in Turkey in 2012 and achieved to the ranking of the 8th largest bank within among Turkey’s private banks in Turkey in terms of size of deposit size and the 9th largest bank in terms of total assets within only 3 years. The three awards that Odeabank received from the international magazine EMEA Finance have proven the Odeabank’s success of Odeabank once again.

Odeabank was awarded the same recognition two years in a row by receiving the “Best Foreign Bank of Turkey” award last year as well as this year at the Europe Banking Awards hosted by the international independent publishing organization EMEA Finance. Odeabank also received the “Most Innovative Bank of the Year in Europe” award, and the General Manager of Odeabank received the “the CEO of the year” award.

Despite the global economic recession that also affected Turkey, Odeabank continued to exhibit rapid growth performance in 2015 and increased its assets by 25%, total loans by 21% and deposits by 20% in comparison to figures from the previous year. The bank completed the year with a net profit of 50,3 million TL and received awards in three different categories in the Europe Banking Awards 2015 based on this performance.

Odeabank Board Member and General Manager Hüseyin Özkaya attended the Award Ceremony in Vienna and said: “Established from scratch, we introduced a new and distinct understanding of service to our sector with Odeabank. Based on the objective of becoming one of the first banks to come to mind, our activities continued and we displayed growth performance above the sectoral average in 2015 as well. The awards we received today also confirm that our ‘success story’ applies not only in Turkey but also at the international level – we have achieved such a high level of performance while sustaining profitability in a market like the Turkish banking sector, where there is fierce competition.”

Odeabank also received 5 awards at the Stevie Awards 2015, one of the most prestigious awards platforms in the international business world, under the “Banking” category in the fields of sales and customer relations. It received the highest number of Stevie awards of any bank in Turkey.
