The Magicscape exhibition at O'Art organized as a part of Slovenia National Day, combines the works of Turkish and Slovenian artists. At the opening of the exhibition, which is initiated by the Slovenia Honorary Consulate of Istanbul Başar Arıoğlu, to bring out art as a part of the relationship between Slovenia and Turkey, the artists dispatched a message of “friendship”. The exhibition will meet with visitors in Slovenia after Turkey.

O'Art combines two countries with art, within the scope of June 25 Slovenia National Day. The exhibition, initiated by Slovenia Honorary Consulate of Istanbul Başar Arıoğlu, looks at the relationship between Slovenia and Turkey through the perspective of art, showcasing works by 6 artists that portray the “magic of the landscape”. The exhibition displaying the works of Eva Petrič, Klemen Brun, Jože Šubic, Başak Avcı, Gül Ilgaz and İrfan Önürmen opened with a reception attended by the leading names of the business world and society. The opening reception was attended by the ambassador of Republic of Slovenia Igor Jukic, Republic of Slovenia Honorary Consulate of Istanbul Başar Arıoğlu, Mayor of Beşiktaş Murat Hazinedar, as well as renowned names like businessman Emre Kurttepeli and his wife Merve Kurttepeli, businessman Levent Çetinyılmaz and lawyer Murat Aksu.

Slovenian artist and curator Joze Subic, summarizes his take on the exhibition with these words: “Today İstanbul is an important hub, where the Eastern and Western contemporary art merge together. Art should not have any limits, as artists this is what we desire. We like to meet new people. With this exhibition our roads have crossed as Turkish and Slovenian artists and this resulted in new energy and new acquaintances.” The Turkish curator of the exhibition Başak Avcı says: “When perceived from a historical perspective it makes us happy to present an exhibition with artists from geographies where the borders of the Ottoman Empire have extended. This exhibition brings the epic and urban potential of the East and West with “the magic of the landscape” to the visitors, just like Istanbul itself.

The artworks where different materials and techniques were used, can be visited at O’Art on the second floor of Odeabank Etiler Branch at Nispetiye Cad. No: 60/A-B Etiler, on Monday - Friday between 10 AM and 6 PM. The second part of the exhibition will be organized in Slovenia's Galerija Domzale in October.
