Mert Öncü Appointed General Manager of Odea Bank, Bank Audi’s Subsidiary in Turkey

The Board of Directors of Odea Bank has convened and resolved to appoint Mr. Mert Öncü, a seasoned Turkish banking sector executive, as General Manager of Odea Bank, the Turkish subsidiary of Lebanon-based Bank Audi, effective April 2, 2018.

Mr. Öncü, 48, who has 24 years of experience in the banking sector through a number of leadership positions, has been Assistant General Manager in charge of Treasury and Financial Institutions and a Member of the Executive Committee of Yapı Kredi since 2011. Previously, he was Head of Money and FX Markets at the same institution. He started his career in Koçbank. He holds an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Degree from Istanbul Technical University and an MBA from DePaul University where he was a graduate assistant between 1993 and 1994. Mr. Öncü earned his doctoral degree from Marmara University in 2001.
